One of our favourite British prom dress brands is Forever Unique and their collection for 2013 is completely stunning.
Colours are predominantly pastel with plenty of nudes, pale pinks, peaches and soft mints but there are also some gorgeous black lace prom dresses. We loved them all so much it was hard to decide which of the new collection to feature

One of the prettiest collection of prom dresses for 2013 comes from high street chain New Look. They’ve teamed up with three British prom dress specialists Ruby Prom, Chi-Chi and Forever Unique to put together a gorgeous selection of prom frocks.
Our personal favourite is the soft grey dress of tiered tulle by Ruby Prom which is reminiscent of Emma Watson’s red carpet dress at the Harry Potter premier.
The collection also includes sparkly high heel shoes in gold, silver and black and pretty evening bags ideal for holding all your prom night essentials.

The fashion for the palest of shades, known as nudes, has created some very delicate and beautiful prom dresses this year. ‘Black Swan’ Ballet Prom Dress
We could not believe it when we saw that this ‘Black Swan’ style ballet prom dress had been reduced from its original price tag of £50 to just £10!!
Created by party dress specialists Goddiva, the black satin tutu is covered with ivory lace and the skirt is supported by a black net underskirt. The fitted bodice is boned with a lace up back – but with an invisible zip underneath.
The dress comes in three colour ways, black, cream and oyster. As it’s a sale item the sizes available are limited and depend on the colour but at the time of writing all three colours come in UK sizes 10 and 12.
So if you’ve always dreamed of wearing a ballet tutu now’s your chance … but be quick, at just £10 each these prom dresses truly are the clearance bargain of the 2012 prom season.
AX Paris Little Black Dress
It’s not often we find a range we want to shout about but the ‘Curve’ Collection of plus size dresses by AX Paris deserves acknowledgement. Specially designed to suit sizes 16-26 the dresses are youthful, pretty and have all the extra details you’d expect in a special occasion or prom dress.
This perfect little black dress (left) is in flowing chiffon with fitted cups and a jewel embellished waist. It comes in sizes 16-26 and is priced at £45.
Floral Chiffon Drop Hem Dress
We love this floral chiffon dress (right) with the seasons must have high low hem. The bodice has a flattering cross over detail and the back is elasticated for a neat and comfortable fit. It’s available in sizes 16-22 and also costs £45.
Lime Chiffon Maxi
Finally the ‘Jewel Chiffon Maxi’ comes in several colours including cream, navy, peach and the unusual lime shade pictured left. It has detachable straps, sheared elasticated back, jewel embellished bodice and a chiffon over lay skirt. It’s available in sizes 16-26 and costs £55.

Lola Halter Dress £65
One of the hottest fashion trends for prom 2012 is lace and the brand new Amy Childs collection for fashion house Lipsy has lace aplenty. Reality TV star Amy, who came to fame in TOWIE, is the original ‘Essex Girl’ and has captured her trademark glamour in the range of stylish bodycon dresses – dresses which remind us all why Spanx were invented!
‘Gracey’ Drop Hem Dress £85
The collection includes pieces in bold monotones, the seasons favourite coral colours and dresses with intricate stud detailing, as well as five dresses in luxe lace.
The ‘Lola’ halter dress (left) is vintage inspired with scalloped lace over a nude lining and comes in dusky pink or black. While the ‘Gracey’ dress (right) is bang on trend with its drop hem which sits high at the front and sweeps the floor at the back.

Ghost ‘Chelsea’ Dress in Electric Blue
This beautiful figure hugging evening dress, by London fashion house Ghost, is available to order in an amazing 16 colours including the deep blue shown here.
Ghost clothes are very distinctive – soft, feminine and gently bohemian. Often cut on the bias like this shapely maxi dress, they tend to be made in luxurious crepe. This particular dress is made in both crepe and satin with a flowing chiffon tie at the back.

The gown, which would make a perfect prom dress, is part of Ghost’s latest range of dye-to-order special occasion dresses – you choose the colour and they dye it especially for you. Available online in sizes XS to L from the John Lewis website it costs £195. Dye-to-order dresses take 4 weeks to process so be sure to order in plenty of time.
