One of the hottest fashion trends for prom 2012 is lace and the brand new Amy Childs collection for fashion house Lipsy has lace aplenty. Reality TV star Amy, who came to fame in TOWIE, is the original ‘Essex Girl’ and has captured her trademark glamour in the range of stylish bodycon dresses – dresses which remind us all why Spanx were invented!

The collection includes pieces in bold monotones, the seasons favourite coral colours and dresses with intricate stud detailing, as well as five dresses in luxe lace.

The ‘Lola’ halter dress (left) is vintage inspired with scalloped lace over a nude lining and comes in dusky pink or black. While the ‘Gracey’ dress (right) is bang on trend with its drop hem which sits high at the front and sweeps the floor at the back.

This beautiful figure hugging evening dress, by London fashion house Ghost, is available to order in an amazing 16 colours including the deep blue shown here.

Ghost clothes are very distinctive – soft, feminine and gently bohemian. Often cut on the bias like this shapely maxi dress, they tend to be made in luxurious crepe. This particular dress is made in both crepe and satin with a flowing chiffon tie at the back.

The gown, which would make a perfect prom dress, is part of Ghost’s latest range of dye-to-order special occasion dresses – you choose the colour and they dye it especially for you. Available online in sizes XS to L from the John Lewis website it costs £195. Dye-to-order dresses take 4 weeks to process so be sure to order in plenty of time.

Featuring dresses which aren’t easily available is pointless BUT in the case of this beautiful dress by Missguided we’re making an exception … and with good reason. Visit the Missguided website and chances are you’ll find this lilac dress, style name Harriet, is available in only one size, or two, or none. However, visit again in an hour and the available sizes will have changed – we’ve been doing it repeatedly over recent days and the available sizes change constantly. Now getting a stunning chiffon-style prom dress, for just £38.99, has got to be worth a few website visits. Don’t you agree?

The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn (Part 1) dvd goes on sale this week in the UK. To celebrate we’re sharing some Twilight inspired prom gowns. First up is Bella in her blue prom dress with her prom date – Edward Cullen. British evening dress specialists Verb have a wonderful range of prom and ball gowns. We chose this stunning satin dress with beaded bodice detail and corset back, as it has a timeless elegance one would associate with romantic heroines and stylish, upmarket vampires. Precious Formals Dress

The UK’s only Prom Magazine is now on sale and attached is a whole extra magazine by Precious Formals featuring a huge range of their 2012 prom dresses. It was hard to pick one dress with so many to choose from but in the end we went for this little black and red number (style no: S44248) as it’s both fun and super vampy.
