Prom Queen and King
If you decide to elect a Prom Queen and King it will need to be organised. If the vote is to be done on the night you will need to arrange ‘crowns’, voting slips, a ballot box and someone to count the votes at the venue. You will then need to agree a time to announce the winners and crown the Queen and King.
Stationery
Having a special menu card or even a brief ‘Order of Service’ on the dining tables on Prom Night does give students something to take home as a keepsake. Such things do not need to cost a great deal. Have them designed by your school Art Department and run off on the school photocopier if necessary.
Security
It is now common at American school Prom Nights to have security guards to stop gate crashers and to keep order. This is not usually done for British Proms but if your school is in a tough inner city area then it may be something to consider at planning stages.
